Unbeknownst to them, their new home is already occupied by a ghost family comprised of jazz musician father Ray Preston and his sons Miles and Louie. With neither family being deterred, they reach a truce and finally agree to cohabitate. Compromise and resolution can always be reached, with a little help from the supernatural, in this entertaining, worry-free family show. Though leery at first, the Hathaways soon discover how much fun life can be when living with ghosts. After agreeing to live under one roof, they come to care about and rely on one another while driving each other crazy — just like any normal family would.
. Unique to the show, is its intent to not focus on the obvious racial and gender differences. This season consisted of 20 episodes and was later increased by six episodes. Unfortunately, Frankie and Louie team up to scare Taylor and her friends out of the house. The families square off in a battle for the house.
Unlike many shows that emphasize diversities and then demonstrate how to make them work, this show ignores the differences and reveals how experience defines the family. As the newest member of the gymnastics team, Taylor is worried to find out she is responsible for hosting a team sleepover but Miles promises he and Louie will be on their best behavior. The trials of teenage angst, tween awkwardness, sibling rivalry and adaptation are given free rein. The Haunted Hathaways is a quirky, yet likeable, family sitcom presented by Nickelodeon. The family moves from The Big Apple to The Big Easy, where Michelle opens up her own bakery. The storyline revolves around a recently divorced single mother, Michelle Hathaway, and her two daughters, Taylor 12 and Frankie 8.
