Oh wait, Robert is well again, because of. Ash and his friends meet a young photographer named Robert who is following in his grandfather's footsteps. Or instead of having some stupid subplot of Robert being poisoned. As he is taking pictures, he's excited about seeing Pikachu in the Unova Region for the first time. On the way to Driftveil City, Ash and friends stop at a Pokémon Center where they meet a Pokémon Photographer named Robert. Ash gets approached by the Deerling and a Sawsbuck.
They decide to stop for the night after an unsuccessful search for the Deerling, who ran away when the fog appeared. Flowers from a photo of a Deerling match those in the Sawsbuck photo, and he narrowed down places where the Antliage Flower grows to a nearby mountain. Ash says that he would like to see the four Sawsbuck as well. The next day, the Summer Deerling licks Ash, which wakes him up as the others wake up as well. The Deerling becomes frightened, and runs away. Ash was the only one who really saw them. Ash vows to get him off the mountain for some medicine, but as the fog rolls in once again, the Deerling returns, this time followed by a Sawsbuck.
He explains that wild Pokémon will never appear when a photographer wants, even if it takes days, a photographer has to be patient and wait for the moment to come. He plans to climb up the mountain, try to find the location and then wait as long as it takes to see the Sawsbuck assemble. He shows them a rare photo of a group of Sawsbuck, each with a set of antlers from a different season at the same time. Robert shows his picture of the flowers to Nurse Joy, who shows him the directions where he can find such flowers. As Iris tries to look for Swoobat, Robert, Ash and Cilan encounter a Deerling in Summer Form. Robert pets the Deerling on the head, as Ash says that maybe the Deerling thinks they are its friends. Robert sends in Swoobat to chemically alter Deerling's mindset and make it friendly and helpful.
Iris and Cilan notice something amazing in the old photos—a single shot of four Sawsbuck, one from every season. Hence, accepting it for what it is. Iris comments that Pikachu loves that Ash is scratching him on the head. Suddenly Iris and Cilan gape in wonder at one particular photo, confusing Ash who has no idea why it is so important. But tonight imagine my surprise when at 6:59 it just comes on suddenly. Ash wants to get moving immediately but Robert tells him no, they'll wait there the night since the mountains are dangerous as night.
Now, Robert and Ash found the area where that Summer Deerling photo was taken. Or instead of having some stupid subplot of Robert being poisoned. He says that he is proud that he was the one that took the photograph. This guy is a real fucking survivalist. What's the point in Ash having Pokemon if he doesn't use them. A photographer named Robert walks up to them and asks if he can take pictures of Pikachu.
The next morning, Ash and Robert are woken up by the same Deerling that helped them the day before. The difference being Ash actually uses a Pokemon. It would've been no different had Robert been poisoned or if an errant attack knocked him unconscious. Robert's crying and the music is almost making me cry too. I'm glad Ash is being friendly with Pikachu, it's nice. I can't say I liked it because just like Burmy, the Deerling get screwed over.
Robert is displeased, as Deerling ran away, so proposes to make a camp, for night is soon to come. Fog appears before them, as a Summer Deerling and Summer Sawsbuck appear before them. Don't think we'll see Autumn or Winter Deerling. Ash and Robert are at a campsite. Ash and Robert continue walking back down the pathway, as Robert comments that he feels a lot better after he was hit by that light from the spring. Robert says he wants to find where that mysterious picture was taken, and our heroes offer to help. Swoobat uses its courtship sound wave that looks like a heart shaped beam, as it hits Deerling, it becomes happy.
Cilan asks Robert if his Grandfather took this photo that is in his Grandfather's album of photos his Grandfather took, and Robert reveals the astonishing truth that he did! Cilan comments that it means that Robert's grandfather must have taken the photo on the same mountain as well. At the campfire after eating, Ash looks at Robert's scrapbook. Answer to all the bad things in the world: Give up on trying to make everything better. Climbing a mountain, they spot a Deerling, which Robert knows might lead them to Sawsbuck. Iris and Cilan arrive, who are glad they came as soon as the fog cleared. Robert is a photographer aiming to take a photo of something that is normally impossible.
