Add some quinoa or rice for the kids and again again, everyone eats the same food. Bettie Jo can barely take care of herself physically. I think because of the spinal thing, one of her doctors probably mentioned cancer as a possibility. I'm thinking of properly fastened car seats and cleaned out sippy cups good choices in baby sisters and yes, simply supporting a baby's head when he's held! I'm in this show for seeing what a 600 lb body looks like, it's limitations, the effects of surgery, how weight loss affects the body, the loose skin limitations, etc. That said, she needs a chin operation or something. She sort of took a small seed and exaggerated it a lot, rather than making it up out of whole cloth. I just wanted to come here and read everybody's comments.
Now also commented that when the baby cried she didn't even look at him. The whole belly just needs to go. Bariatric patients cannot have granola. Clearly the show lied about their timeline, then, since it is not possible to see a penis on an ultrasound in a fetus that would if the timeline is accurate be less than 12 weeks along. While watching this episode, I was struck by how really pretty Susan could be.
I'm afraid things might not have worked out. My guess is that she goes straight back up to 650! I know not all humans react to the same stimuli the same way, but if she had a traumatic childhood, obesity is in keeping with studies that show that trauma and turmoil and not just sexual trauma in childhood increase likelihood of obesity in adulthood by something like 70%. Melissa has those same super deep set eyes. What kind of life is that poor child going to have. Not to mention the fact that they are both seriously f'd up! I wonder if he had trouble finding work. You can get skin surgery etc but you will never be able to 100% undo what has been done.
Bettie Jo and her husband seem emotionally immature and perhaps a little slow. Edited April 21, 2016 by OhioMom I'm not done with the episode yet and I missed exactly when in the process 1 year 6 months? She eats what she wants at this point. Lots of people eat super healthy during pregnancy. Now told her mom to stop smoking and get healthier too. Remember in Steinbeck's novel Sweet Thursday sequel to Cannery Row when Mack and the rest of the boys from the Palace Flophouse hold a raffle to buy Doc the microscope he needs to finish his research -- and then in their innocent ignorance they proudly present him with a telescope. Then he wouldn't have to worry about her not needing him anymore. Did she have the baby??? I was happy for her getting to buy jeans and ride the horse.
Also glad that Susan went to her final appointments without her mom. How does that result in tremendous weight gain? She Was Diagnosed with Neuropathy Not long after her surgeries, Susan was diagnosed with a nerve condition called neuropathy. Your mental health must be well in order for your physical health to fall in line. You can do it we know you can! Yes, she said it was an accident and that she didn't know she could get pregnant, but then later said she'd had earlier miscarriages. This is a Where Are They Now? At least that's according to my nutritionist who works with bariatric patients. Shopping for baby clothes, saying the baby meant more to her than use of her legs? Now that she has lost the weight and is eating better, her face actually looks younger than before, but the neck skin is counteracting the effect. I wanted to ask why there is no food education, but we know there must be.
I can imagine what people let's be clear - white males are saying at conferences behind her back. . I think the surgery must be hard on the body, though I understand that some obviously need it and do better with than without it. What happened with Bettie Jo and her situation? So many deserving people have actual reasons for needing things like a GoFundMe site. Yes they are smaller but the wide systemic damage has already been done to their bodies. Is she kidding, she needs to lose another 300 pounds which you can't do sitting in a wheel chair! That said, she needs a chin operation or something.
I believe this was filmed around the same time as their Gofundme because this segment was actually supposed to be aired last May, but for some reason it was postponed and only aired last night. Susan's weight loss was phenomenal. It sounds harsh, but it's true. Now's diet, as a way to distract herself from eating. Did she have the surgery?? Again, for most people that looks more like a meal than a carton of cottage cheese. I agree with all of this. Yikes, I'm an old lady! Have an terrible illness yourself? Not to mention the two of them winging that baby around and not supporting his head at all! Given how expensive the surgery is, what is even the point?? She looks at least as old as her mother, and did even at a higher weight.
It was interesting to me that they chose to move back home rather than stay in Houston. I think that is something that is somewhat of a harsh reality with this show. Bettie Jo's stuff was so sad. Bettie Jo is living proof of that. Susan traces her weight issues back to the divorce of her parents as a young child, which triggered depression and 'trust issues. Susan lost an astounding amount of weight but looked like she aged 20 years. Which is kinda sad after having so much work done and working so hard on her weight.
